Good tires for driving in the snow
Having good tires is probably the best thing you can do for yourself for winter driving. I don't mean that you have to have snow tires, you just need to make sure that you have good tires. If your tires are bald or really worn out, that is much worse than driving with all season tires. Even if you live in a spot where snow tires might be a good investment, it is still a good idea to check your tire tread by using the penny test to check the depth. If you find out that you don't have much tread left on the tire it will be important to get new good tires before any snowfall occurs. Good tires can mean the difference between staying on the road or having an accident.
Good tires for good handling
Good tires are so much easier on you and your car. You probably notice quite a bit of difference in the handling of your car once you replace worn-out tires. Good tires will eventually wear down because of routine use. Some things will cause your good tires to wear down a lot quicker, such as driving too fast or aggressively or any type of steering and/or alignment problems with the car. Even with good tires, a car that is improperly aligned can affect your handling.
